Passion. One of the most transformative things to change your life is to surround yourself with that which you are passionate about. Passion drives action, action drives results, results provide change, change spurs passion. And though passion is truly at the core of each and every one of us, passion must be nurtured, assisted, guided.

Find your passion - What do you really enjoy? What makes you excited? Pursue it!
Dream on paper - Write down what drives your passion. Document your ideas. Come back to them frequently as affirmations of your passion.
Become an expert - Research your passion, become an expert in it. Finding your niche in your passion can lead to you standing out from others in the same area.
Practice your passion - Becoming successful at anything takes effort, and comes with failures on the road to success. Don't give up on your passion. Succeed as though you know you cannot fail!

Life is like a mosaic. We place one minute next to another to create the overall masterpiece, same as placing one small piece next to another in a mosaic until the complete work is done. Make your life a masterpiece one minute at a time.

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. This is also so true when you look at life. We all have these grand plans, wonderful things we want to accomplish, yet the end results seems so daunting and so distant, then life seems to take us on a different path than what we thought we wanted. Yet, isn't the path we take in life ours to determine?

Stop thinking of "what might happen", instead think of "what you want to happen!" This is a powerful statement. I have always dwelled on what I thought would happen in a given situation. This has obviously not done a lot of good. My friend Danny was channel surfing at my apartment one day and saw a program he thought might have some positive influence, "Excuses be Gone" by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer! Wow! Some serious, deep stuff. So bought the book, started reading, and found an entire book written just for me.

Danny and my aussie buddy Graeme have been getting into quite a bit of mischief on my behalf lately. I started running into boxes in each of the rooms of my apartment, boxes containing art supplies and materials. As the guys were cleaning up the apartment, they noticed boxes of art materials, and thought maybe I would actually use them if they were "in my face". It's working! Photos of the new pieces will appear on the site shortly!

Since I was a small child, I have realized I have been blessed with artistic talents. An innate sense of aesthetics, strong technical understanding and skills, ability to recognize (and appreciate) beauty, and this crazy ability of invention - that is, coming up with ideas that are way ahead of their time. And no, I'm not being arrogant, many people really are born with a wealth of artistic talent. Those that are successful, utilize those talents. The rest of us, well, don't.

In the silence of many mornings, I have asked God "what I am doing wrong, what should I be doing in life?" And the answer has alwasy been the same - do those things I have been given the talent to do. God has always pointed me to my artistic talents, and yet every time I have ignored the direction I was given. Now that is arrogance: to ignore direction given by God? Then there was the tree. And things started changing.

For several years now, this site has sat empty. That has been part of the pattern of my artistic endeavors. Moments of genius followed by years of neglect. And everytime I asked God what I should be doing with my life, the answer was always the same and always pointed the same direction: create. Though the talent was always there, the act of creation needs the right inspiration. At the end of 2011, the inspiration came in the form of a an aussie, a security guard, and a tree. Each played their part in getting me back into the passion that has driven my life for years. The plan is for that passion to take shape on the pages of this site as 2012 begins.

Occassionally I'll interject some inspirational words along with the art, provide sayings that bring positive tones, resources that provide guidance, artists and their pieces that encourage the creative process. And I'll explain how the inspirations from 2011 played their part in getting this site up and getting the art displayed and created in 2012.
